PLR content is everywhere, and it can be quite useful if you want to take a few content creation shortcuts while still offering your followers something they can’t get anywhere else. The trick is knowing how to repurpose the PLR content you buy, so that it’s got a unique spin and flavor that only you can provide.
There’s no point in spending your hard-earned money on PLR content if you’re not going to make it yours. Fortunately, there are lots of easy and fun ways to give your PLR content a facelift and turn it into something that’ll help you attract followers and increase your sales.
Here are 8 of my favorite ideas for repurposing PLR content.
#1: Change Formats
One of the best ways to transform PLR content is by taking it and putting it into another format. Here are just a few ideas to try:
- Take an eBook and turn each chapter of the book into a short report or a short video.
- Put several PLR articles together to make an eBook or report
- Take a video and create a transcript, making it into a blog post or article
- Take the data from an article and turn it into an infographic
The simple act of changing formats can take a piece of content and turn it into something that’s truly original and perfectly suited to your brand. If you’re putting multiple articles together, go through the content and make sure that it flows together. You may need to do some editing and rewriting to make it work.
#2: Personalize It
PLR content is designed to be easily adapted and that means that you have an opportunity to add your personal touch to it.
One simple way to make a PLR book or report your own is to add personal details from your life to it. The introduction is a good place to include your biography, but you can sprinkle details throughout the book, too.
You can also add personal photographs and other images to content to make it feel like it’s yours and not something that you bought. These details and touches will transform the content into something that only you could have made.
#3: Translate the Content into Other Languages
When your content is written in English, it’s accessible only to people who speak English fluently enough to benefit from it. So, why not translate it into other languages?
I’ve written before about how translating your books can help you introduce them to a new audience. Translation is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to make your PLR content unique and special – and to help a whole new group of people find you (and buy what you’re selling!)
#4: Create Tools to Enhance the Content
A lot of PLR content is basic by design. It might cover the topic you want to cover but not to a degree that provides significant value to your customers.
The way to get around that is to enhance the PLR content by adding tools and tips to help people use it. For example, you could add:
- A template to help people achieve a goal
- Step-by-step instructions for completing a task
- Worksheets
- Infographics
- Charts and graphs
Anything you add to either flesh out the content or make it more actionable adds value to it – and makes it more likely that people will want to buy it.
#5: Combine One or More Pieces of PLR Content
There’s no rule that says you need to use PLR content all at once. In fact, once you buy it, you can do what you please with it. For that reason, I love to take PLR content and mix and match it to make something new.
One idea would be to take chapters – or even parts of chapters – from various PLR books and put them together into a new book. You’d need to write a new introduction and conclusion and smooth out the writing, but this method would ensure that you’re selling something that’s unique.
Before you use this method (or any others) make sure to check the agreement for each piece of PLR content. Sometimes there are restrictions on how you can use it, so be careful and make sure you’re sticking to the agreement before you proceed.
#6: Make a Custom Audio Book from PLR Content
Audio books have been around for a long time but they’re having a resurgence now. In addition to well-known sites like Audible, people are downloading audio books from Amazon and even from their local libraries.
Since most PLR products are text products, it’s easy to give your content a fresh twist by turning it into an audio book. You can record it yourself or hire someone to read it for you. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to add something original to it – such as personal anecdotes and tips – before recording.
#7: Create an Online Course or Webinar
Online learning is everywhere and creating a course or webinar is a terrific way to repurpose your PLR content and earn some money.
Here again, you’ll want to mix and match your content. For example, you could take PLR books, articles, infographics, and templates, and put them together into a comprehensive course to sell on your website or an educational site such as Udemy.
#8: Create Tweets and Other Social Media Posts
Social media marketing is a must for every online entrepreneur. One of the quickest and easiest ways to repurpose PLR content is to grab quotes and relevant information from the content you buy and turn it into shareable social media posts.
One of the best ways to do it is to use a tool like Canva to put an image and words together. Images are great for sharing on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter – and they’re shared more frequently than posts without images.
Conclusion
Buying PLR content is a good way to jump-start your content creation without spending a lot of money. The key is to repurpose your PLR content to make it unique and valuable to your followers – and the 8 ideas I’ve listed here will help you do that.

I am a Non Fiction author and write books about Yoga & Meditation. I published my first book on amazon only. It was easy and user friendly. Some of my clients wanted my books on apple and I was getting tired of emailing pdfs which were not optimised for the device and did not provide a good reading experience. So, I decided to publish on Apple Books and used D2D for that purpose. They have a neat interface and I am happy with the service. To get initial reviews and visibility for my book, I used https://usabookreviewers.com and am happy with the sales and growth. I also do podcasts, Youtube videos and blog, so the ebook integrates very well with my brand.
