If you’ve never created a digital card deck and want to try, you might need some guidance to choose the right AI tools. We have our favorites, so here’s our list of the tools we think are the most useful, affordable, and all around great for making digital card decks.
Stockimg.ai

We all have our favorite methods to use, and Stockimg.ai makes it easy to export your card deck designs in a variety of formats, including JPG, PNG, SVG, or even PDF. You can also use this tool to create videos with AI.
The pricing is straightforward. There’s a free account, which you might want to check out. It has very limited access to features. If you upgrade to a paid account, there are two options that will work for most people.
- Starter Plan: $19 per month, and you’ll get unlimited AI image credits per month, plus 30 video credits.
- Premium Plan: $29 per month, with unlimited AI image credits and 100 video credits.
There’s a Custom Plan, too, but that’s not necessary unless you own a big company. All plans give you the ability to link to social media accounts, plus free access to Chat GPT.
Canva

While Canva doesn’t have templates that are specifically for card decks, they do have templates that are ideal for creating decks. We use the business card templates as a jumping-off point, and we particularly like those with a Portrait orientation and rounded edges.
Canva has a free account that provides access to over 3 million images and a million templates. You can upgrade to Pro for $120 per year, something you’ll need to do if you want access to the Magic Studio and its cool, AI-powered features.
DALL-E 3

The key to using DALL-E 3 is choosing the right prompts to get the design you want. We’ve found that it’s useful to say up front that you’re designing a card deck. The dimensions of a typical playing card are 3.5” by 2.5”. You can ask for design suggestions first if you’re not sure what you want.
There’s a free version of Chat GPT, but you’ll need to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus for $20 per month to get access to DALL-E 3.
Starryai.com

With Starry.ai, you’ll need a premium plan to unlock all aspect ratios, which is something that’s crucial if you want to design card decks. The good news is that the Starter Plan is just $1.99 per week, which works out to $95.99 per year. With this plan, you’ll get an additional 50 lumens per week, 200 image generations per week, and more.
There’s also an Unlimited Pro Plan for $7.99 per week and an Unlimited Pro Max Plan for $15.99 per week. We think the Starter Plan is more than enough for most people, which makes this a very affordable tool to try.
Kittl

Kittl has some things in common with Canva in that it uses drag-and-drop technology. You can add or remove images and text, swap out design elements, and much more. What we do wish they’d change is the view of some of the templates, which can be too small and require some finessing before use.
As is the case with a lot of these tools, you’ll need to upgrade from the Free plan if you want to be able to access more templates and play around with aspect ratios, something that’s extremely important when creating card decks.
The Pro Plan is $15 per month and gives you access to the full library of templates plus 30 AI credits per day. There’s also an Expert Plan for $30 per month, which gives you 80 AI credits per day. Most people should be fine with the Pro Plan.
Conclusion
Creating digital card decks is easy to do and can be very profitable if you use the right tools and understand your target audience. The tools we’ve listed here are some of our favorites and make the card creation process easy and intuitive. We love that!
