Your Holiday Product Timeline: What to Create and List in October and November

September 15, 2026 By Amy Harrop

Your Holiday Product Timeline
Etsy’s fourth quarter tells you everything about how holiday selling really works: about $3.6 billion of its $11.9 billion in 2025 sales happened in Q4. Nearly a third of the year is in one quarter.

And the buyers fueling it start early. NRF data shows roughly two in five holiday shoppers begin browsing and buying before November, a pattern that’s held steady for years, with average holiday spending near $890 per person.

The catch: listings that cash in on that December traffic need to exist weeks earlier, because marketplace search rewards listings with history. If you found my back-to-school product timeline useful, this is the same play for a much bigger season. Here’s the week-by-week plan.

Early October: Get Your Holiday Catalog Live

This is the most valuable listing window of the entire quarter. Products listed in early October have seven or more weeks to accumulate views, favorites, and early sales before peak December traffic.

  • Christmas and holiday printables: gift tags, wrapping paper, advent activities, Elf-return letters, Christmas party games
  • Gift-ready wall art: prints aimed at specific recipients and interests, because gift buyers search “gift for dad who loves grilling,” not “wall art.” The weirder and more specific, the better it performs as a gift.
  • Holiday planning printables: gift trackers, budget sheets, holiday card address lists, hosting planners
  • Faith and tradition products: Advent devotionals, Hanukkah activities, St. Nicholas Day printables; the niche traditions are dramatically underserved

If your Halloween products are live (here’s the fall guide if you’re catching up), resist the urge to keep polishing them. October production hours belong to December products.

Mid-to-Late October: Bundle and Broaden

Bundle and Broaden

  • Build bundles from your singles: a “Christmas hosting kit” of five planners you already sell raises order value with no new traffic.
  • Add gift-focused keywords to existing listings: “stocking stuffer,” “gift for teacher,” “Secret Santa.” Buyers change their search language in November; update yours before they do.
  • Fill the gaps on your shelf: if your bestselling print has one style, make three more variations while it is still in the ranking.

November 1-15: The Last Ranking Window

The Last Ranking Window

New listings can still catch the wave through mid-November, especially for last-minute product types like printable gifts and party games. After that, new listings mostly ride on direct traffic and luck.

This is also when you shift hours from creating to promoting: pin your holiday products, post your short-form videos, and send your email list a gift guide. Attention you direct now hits buyers at maximum readiness.

Late November: Black Friday Through Cyber Monday

Black Friday Through Cyber Monday

Digital products convert beautifully on discount weekends because any discount is a pure margin decision; there’s no unit cost.
Run a shop-wide sale, feature your bundles, and make sure your shop announcement mentions instant download.
Deal shoppers buying gifts love anything that ships instantly and can’t sell out.

December 1-20: Harvest the Last-Minute Market

December 1-20: Harvest the Last-Minute Market

This is where printables have a superpower that nothing physical can match:
December 20th is still a great sales day. Printable gifts (art prints, gift certificate templates, “experience” coupon books), games for the family gathering, and NYE party kits all sell right up to the wire. Your job in December isn’t listing; it’s being findable and responsive.

December 26 and After: The Pivot Nobody Plans For

December 26 and After: The Pivot Nobody Plans For

The day after Christmas, buyer intent flips overnight to fresh starts: 2027 planners, budget trackers, habit trackers, organization printables.
Sellers who list dated 2027 products in the fall (details in my Q4 prep guide) get both the gift season AND the resolution season from the same catalog.

The Shortcut for the Gift Market

One product type shows up in every high-value window above: wall art aimed at specific people and interests.
It’s the classic Q4 gift purchase; it’s pure digital margin, and with AI, the production bottleneck is gone. Trending AI Wall Art: 500 Prompts hands you the exact prompts for the styles and niches buyers are searching for, so your October listing sprint starts with a full idea bank instead of a blank page.

Whatever you make, make it on the calendar above. Nearly a third of the year is coming; the sellers who win it are those whose products are waiting for it to arrive.
